Interview with Gulnara Mukhedinova the Founder and CEO of Baravia Beauty Center and Baravia Fashion
How long have you been living in Dubai?
I have been permanently living in Dubai for 17 years now
How did you start your professional career?
Before I started my career, I was a full-time parent, but then I felt that something was missing in my life, so I decided that I need to start my own business.
What was your first business project?
My first project was Bavaria Beauty Center
Do you find it difficult to run a beauty salon in Dubai?
Defiantly, running a beauty salon is never easy, especially in Dubai as it is a very competitive market.
Do you face many difficulties being a woman entrepreneur?
Yes, it’s very difficult, in a male dominated society, it is difficult for female entrepreneurs to enter the market and earn respect in the industry. There are many challenges, but at the end of the day overcoming those challenges gives me fulfilment and happiness.
What inspired you to establish Baravia Fashion brand?
My inspiration was my love of fashion and my passion for beauty and style.
You have participated in many Fashion Weeks, which was the most memorable one?
For me the most memorable was Arab Fashion Week
You have received many awards and have been on the covers of few magazines, including Dubai business. What is the secret of your success?
For me the secret is simple, love what you do, follow your dream and don’t be scared of taking the risk.
You have three lovely children, is it difficult to combine family and business?
Yes, I feel very blessed with three wonderful children, my advise would be when it comes to combing family and work is to love what you do, set your priorities right and try to find a balance in everything that you do and then everything will be possible.
Tell us more about your other projects and your huge presence on social media
At first for me social media was about keeping in touch with my old friends and writing inspirational posts, but now I find that social media plays a big part in promoting my business and generating market awareness for my brands.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?
In 10 years’, time I think that I will still run Bavaria Beauty Center and Bavaria Fashion and hopefully will expand my market presence by opening new branches.
