UAE’s 50’s National Day – a new chapter in the country’s development journey
Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said the UAE’s National Day, which marks its Golden Jubilee, is a special occasion that signals the start of a new phase in the country’s development journey.
His Highness congratulated the UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, and UAE citizens on the occasion of the country’s 50th National Day.
Sheikh Hamdan also paid tribute to the country’s founding fathers, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Said Al Maktoum. His Highness further said that the citizens of the UAE have demonstrated their commitment to nation-building and have made it one of the leading nations in the world by adopting the world’s best practices and ensuring the highest quality standards in various fields.
Investing in human capital and developing talent that will lead the country on the path of progress has been one of its main objectives since the UAE’s inception, said His Highness Sheikh Hamdan. The country is using the latest technologies to stay at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution and achieve the best results in the shortest possible time.
His Highness highlighted that the UAE is leading the way in providing medical and humanitarian assistance to countries severely affected by COVID-19. Despite the impact of the global pandemic over the past two years, UAE citizens have proven that they are capable of withstanding any challenge. Sheikh Hamdan said the country’s visionary leadership, flexible operational systems and ability to act decisively, backed by the coordinated efforts of local and federal authorities, had enabled the country to tackle COVID-19 in record time.
The Crown Prince said hosting Expo 2020 in Dubai, a major international event that will bring together 192 countries, is further proof of the UAE’s resilience in the face of adversity. The prestigious event is the largest global show organised since the pandemic began.
As His Highness stated on 2 December, the country will prepare for the next 50 years with clear goals, targeted initiatives and an ambitious vision to lead the world in various fields.
