Expo 2020 Dubai’s visitor numbers skyrocketed to 6,358,464 million visits in the period to 13 December, driven by world-class music, exciting sporting events, vibrant National Days, family-friendly entertainment and a steady demand for the Expo 2020 Celebration Pass.
Alicia Keys drew crowds to Al Wasl Plaza on December 10, captivating the audience with a message of love, hope, innovation and making dreams a reality. As the release of her new double album Keys coincided with a performance at Expo 2020, the 15-time Grammy award-winning singer chose the world’s largest global platform as the venue to launch her highly anticipated new release: “It’s just perfect to release Keys in Dubai. Expo 2020 Dubai knows no boundaries; it represents the future we all want to create.”
Manchester City footballer Pablo Zabaleta visited Expo 2020 Dubai, sharing his interest in coaching and love for the Middle East; Indian singer Neha Kakkar delighted the crowd at Jubilee Park on December 12 with a show that inspired people to live life to the fullest; Expo World Choir, comprising singers and musicians from 142 nationalities, performed at the Jubilee Stage; and popular Filipino artists Sponge Cola and Matthaios came together to tell their stories through music on December 8.
After nine games of this year’s FIDE World Championship, Magnus Carlsen scored the one point needed to defeat challenger Jan Nepomnyashchiy at the Expo 2020 Dubai. Following him, Georgian grandmaster Nona Gaprindashvili, the inspiration behind the popular Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, took part today (13 December) in a discussion on the challenges and achievements of female empowerment at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, followed by an exciting game between grandmasters and members of the Dubai Culture and Chess Club at Al Wasl Plaza.
Other upcoming entertainment includes Brainiac Live, which will fill Jubilee Park on 15 December with a wild science show – perfect for children and adults alike. On 16 December, Jubilee Stage will kick off with a diverse mix of exciting global musical talent, while Egyptian singer, rapper, actor, dancer and producer Mohammed Ramadan will perform a standalone concert on Jubilee Stage on 18 December.
The Expo is an exciting day out for families, with arts and crafts, light shows, performances and a free winter camp including sports activities, team games and challenges led by qualified sports coaches. A new family meal offer has recently been launched, offering one free children’s meal with every adult’s meal during the week at selected Expo restaurants.

As the largest global event held since the pandemic began, Expo 2020 Dubai continues to support the robust COVID-19 measures, ensuring a safe and exceptional event for all participants. With over 90 per cent of the UAE population fully vaccinated, Expo 2020 Dubai has required mandatory vaccination of all staff, volunteers, contractors and service providers attending the Expo and international events. Visitors aged 18 years and above must present proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours. In addition, disinfection points and mandatory face masks are in place both inside and outside the Expo 2020 premises.
Expo 2020 Dubai will run until 31 March 2022, inviting the world to join the global celebration to help shape a better and brighter future for everyone.
