DEWA Director and CEO receives the Spanish Ambassador to the UAE

H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Thayer, Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) received H.E. Iñigo de Palacio, Spanish Ambassador to the UAE, and Andres Salinero, Trade and Economic Adviser at the Spanish Embassy.

The purpose of the visit was to review the latest developments in DEWA and discuss cooperation in the clean and renewable energy sector. The meeting also looked at key projects, initiatives and programmes contributing to the transition to a green economy and sustainable development.

Al Thayer welcomed the visiting delegation and spoke about the importance of strengthening cooperation and the contribution of Spanish companies to electricity and water projects in Dubai, especially in the clean and renewable energy sector, as well as sharing best practices, knowledge and experience in the energy and water sectors, to further develop these areas and mutually benefit from the experience of both sides.

The Spanish delegation showed interest in participating in leading DEWA projects in the field of clean and renewable energy and water, praising the bilateral relationship between the UAE and Spain and DEWA’s efforts to achieve sustainable development in Dubai.
