New Year’s Eve celebration precautions announced
In line with instructions from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, the Emirate’s Supreme Committee for Crisis and Disaster Management, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced precautionary measures for the Emirate’s New Year celebrations. Urging members of the public to continue observing COVID-19 precautions to protect themselves and the public, the Committee said strict adherence to preventive guidelines was vital to maintaining the progress made by Dubai in combating the pandemic.
At today’s meeting, the High Committee noted that society’s strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention guidelines has been key to Dubai’s exceptional success in containing the pandemic. The Emirate’s awareness campaigns and continued public cooperation will help ensure the well-being of all citizens, residents and visitors.
The last meeting of the Committee focused on preparations for the New Year and the role of different target groups. Preventive measures and guidelines for the celebration were also approved at the meeting.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor said that thanks to the concerted efforts of the frontline authorities and a comprehensive pandemic control plan, coupled with the unwavering cooperation of the public, Dubai was able to contain the spread of the virus. His Highness said strict prevention protocols continue to be in place as part of the Dubai Government’s efforts to protect citizens, residents and visitors to the city.
During the meeting, the chairman approved guidelines for the celebration of the New Year in Dubai. Those who violate the precautionary measures will face fines and penalties. Wearing masks is mandatory for all participants in indoor and outdoor events. Failure to wear a mask will result in a fine of AED 3,000.

Visitors can watch Dubai’s New Year’s Eve fireworks displays from 29 locations across the city, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the festivities in a safe, secure and socially distant environment.
