Emirates opens new lounge for young passengers
Young travellers flying unaccompanied on Emirates flights can now relax and wait for their flight in the newly refurbished lounge for them at Dubai International Airport, located next to Emirates First Class Lounge in Concourse B. The Emirates lounge for unaccompanied children is open 24 hours a day and the refurbished lounge offers fun video games, drinks and snacks, comfortable seating areas, free wi-fi and child-friendly toilets.
Parents or guardians who have pre-booked the Emirates Unaccompanied Minors service can drop off their young passengers at Dubai Airport Terminal 3, where the Emirates team will check them onto the flight in a dedicated unaccompanied minors lounge. This area is located between the Economy and First/Business Class check-in lounges.
Once check-in is complete, one of Emirates’ friendly airport staff will guide young passengers through immigration and security, on to a dedicated departure lounge in the air corridor, and then from the lounge to the departure gate.
Young passengers will receive priority boarding and Emirates cabin attendants will be waiting for the young passengers at the aircraft doors to help them find their seats and get seated on board.
On board, young passengers will enjoy delicious meals and snacks tailored to their taste preferences, toys and activity kits, as well as children’s headphones to watch over 50 Disney movies and 130+ TV channels for young travellers. Emirates is now offering cool toys and bags on board for young travellers, inspired by Expo 2020 Dubai and featuring Emirates’ little heroes. All toys and bags use recycled materials and the bags are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles.
Young solo travellers with connecting flights in Dubai will also be taken care of during the flight. Emirates ground services staff will meet and escort them from their flight to one of the dedicated lounges for unaccompanied minors, where they will await their next flight.
The Emirates Unaccompanied Minor service must be booked in advance and is available for children aged 5-11 years travelling alone. The service can also be booked for young travellers aged 12 to 15 years old.
