Dubai Derma opens its doors at DWTC
His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director General of the Dubai Department of Information, opened the 21st World Dermatology and Laser Therapy Conference and Exhibition (Dubai Derma 2022) at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC). The largest and leading event dedicated to dermatology and aesthetics in the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian subcontinent, Dubai Derma 2022 will be held from February 27 to March 1 under the theme “Shaping the Future of Dermatology and Aesthetics.”
His Highness was accompanied by Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Executive Chairman of Dubai Derma and Chairman of INDEX Holding; Dr. Ibrahim Galadari, Chairman of Dubai Derma Conference; Dr. Hasan Galadari, Head of the Scientific Committee of Dubai Derma Conference; Dr. Abdul Wahab Al Fuzan, President of the Arab Academy of Dermatology and Esthetics and President of Kuwait Society of Dermatologists; and Dr. Riad Mashal, Secretary of the Pan Arab League of Dermatological Societies.
During a tour of the exhibition area, His Highness Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum familiarized himself with the latest developments and technologies in dermatology and laser treatment. Several prominent figures in the field of dermatology and aesthetics were present at the opening of the exhibition.
Dubai Derma 2022 takes place against the backdrop of Dubai becoming a prominent medical tourism destination, including in the sector of dermatology and aesthetics. The wide participation of experts, doctors and representatives of renowned companies specializing in medical equipment and consumables reflects the high level of confidence in Dubai as one of the safest destinations for global meetings.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, executive chairman of Dubai Derma and chairman of INDEX Holding, said: “The UAE’s ability to develop its medical sector to the best international standards has been instrumental in attracting many elite doctors from around the world to the country to conduct research and share experiences. This year, Dubai Derma brought together participants and industry professionals from around the world to share scientific knowledge, review changes in the dermatology and aesthetic medicine sector, identify the various challenges facing the industry, and explore business opportunities.
With more than 20,000 visitors from 104 participating countries, Dubai Derma 2022 showcased more than 1,200 international products from 400 companies. Korea, France, China, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Poland were well represented at the event.
The conference program includes 326 scientific lectures, 79 seminars and more than 90 scientific posters on various developments and topics related to plastic surgery, laser, cosmetic dermatology, anti-aging therapy and more. The event also features more than 349 dermatology experts who will present their expertise and the latest technologies in various related disciplines.
The first day of the conference featured several dermatology-related topics, including “Photodynamic Therapy in Medicine and Aesthetics,” “Photodamage and Skin Aging,” and the latest developments in “Photodynamic Therapy in Medicine and Aesthetics.”
Dubai Derma is organized annually by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est., part of the INDEX Holding Company, in cooperation with the Pan-Arab League of Dermatology, the Arab Academy of Dermatological Aesthetics (AADA) and the Gulf League of Dermatologists, supported by the Government of Dubai and the Dubai Health Authority.
The event is also supported by the Society of Cosmetic Dermatology of India, the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), the International Society of Dermatology, the Italian Society of Dermatology (SIDeMaST), the Pakistan Association of Dermatologists and the College of Dermatologists of Sri Lanka.
