General Budget Committee discusses the federal budget for 2022
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, chaired the sixth meeting of the UAE Federal General Budget Committee.
H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; H.E. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; H.E. Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; H.E. Khaled Mohamed Al Tameemi, Governor of the UAE Central Bank, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance attended the meeting.
The General Budget Committee discussed the execution of the 2022 federal budget as part of the broader 2022-2026 period in light of recent developments and the updated procedures of the Ministry of Finance to develop the federal general budget in accordance with UAE laws and regulations.
The committee also reviewed federal cash flows for fiscal year 2021 and the first few months of 2022, as well as cash flows expected over the next several months. The committee also directed the Department of Finance to begin developing a federal budget for 2023 in accordance with the UAE’s development plans for the next 50 years.
