DHA wins Best Government Initiative
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, presented the prestigious Hamdan Bin Mohammed Public Services Programme Flag to the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for winning the Best Government Initiative category for the ”Dubai Health Shield’ initiative.
The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme recognises innovative initiatives in government agencies, supporting the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, that public services contribute to making Dubai the greatest city in the world.
DHA has been announced as the winner of Hamdan Hub 2021, organised by the Dubai Model Centre, part of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council.
Congratulating DHA, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said: “We congratulate the Dubai Health Authority for winning the Hamdan Flag Competition. This is a well-deserved recognition of the Authority’s continuous efforts to improve and innovate its services. Dubai is a role model in delivering creative, innovative and high quality public services in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Our vision for the future is shaped by the competence of our employees, whose exemplary commitment to improving public services contributes significantly to making Dubai a global benchmark for service innovation. I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the participating organisations who continue to provide services that make people’s lives easier.”
H.E. Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of the Dubai Executive Council, said: “Since its inception 12 years ago, the Dubai Model Centre has made qualitative progress in public services. Our role in supporting government entities will continue to focus on enhancing the quality of public services so that we can provide an exceptional experience for all those who reside in and visit Dubai. Our mission through our recently launched 360 Services Policy ensures that we deliver proactive, integrated and seamless services with efficiency and effectiveness to individuals and businesses. We strive to continuously improve government performance and be a government that serves its people.”
The Dubai Health Shield initiative presented by DHA was voted the best government initiative by the public and a jury of 17 experts from 11 countries.
DHA will now display the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme flag for government over its headquarters for one year, until the next edition of the programme.
The nominated initiatives included Dubai Police’s Lost and Found system; Dubai Municipality’s My Food initiative; Dubai Courts’ Proactive Precautionary Attachment initiative; Dubai Ambulance Corporation’s ESTIJABA initiative; RTA’s Click and Drive initiative; the Community Development Authority’s Smart Transformation initiative for financial benefits; DEWA’s Green Charger initiative; and the Dubai General Authority for Residence and Alien Affairs’ Golden Visa initiative.
The winning initiative was selected based on criteria that determined effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and commitment to government innovation. A committee made up of an expert jury evaluated the submissions before the customer voting phase. The criteria for selecting the best initiative were based on many evaluation indicators and methodologies, including quality of service, ease of use, efficiency and simplicity, among others.
Involving customers in evaluating initiatives and contributing to their improvement is in line with management’s vision of putting people at the heart of service development and putting their well-being, happiness and satisfaction at the forefront.
