Downtown Design returns to Dubai in November
Downtown Design, the region’s leading industry event, will once again take place in Dubai from 9 to 12 November 2022. For nine years, the exhibition has attracted the most fashionable designers and buyers from the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Asia.
Its audience is growing and brands, studios and creatives from around the world are using it as an opportunity to increase their visibility and expand their customer base. Global brands that will be exhibiting in 2022 include Cosentino, Fritz Hansen, Lasvit, Minotti and Pedrali.
New to the Downtown Design show will be an exclusive collection of handmade rugs from multidisciplinary designer Bethan Laura Wood, Lutron will create an interactive project with architectural lighting, and VitrA will announce a collaboration with Tom Dixon in the Middle East.
Parisian design gallery Anne Jacquemin Sablon will bring works by interior designer Tristan Auer; Colombian textile studio Verdi will return with a collection of handmade products made from rare natural fibres and metals.
In the limited-edition Downtown Editions section, House of Today Gallery will showcase works by Lebanese creatives Stephanie Mussallem and Roula Salamoun; emerging Emirati designer Omar Al Gourg will present a solo presentation of his brand Modu Method; and Kuwaiti designer Meshari Al Nassar will present new collection pieces in natural materials.
Designers from Egypt, Jordan and Uganda will be bringing collectible handicrafts to the Downtown Design exhibition. The business programme will include fascinating talks, guided tours, master classes and networking opportunities. To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Veuve Clicquot brand, a champagne lounge will be built.
The Downtown Design exhibition will traditionally be part of Dubai Design Week, the anchor event of the Dubai Design District (d3). For more information, visit DowntownDesign.com.
