New glamping site to open in Dubai desert
A new luxury glamping or glamorous campsite called The Nest is set to open in the Dubai desert in September 2022. The authors of the new project are the same as the famous Sonara Camp. The new glamping will be eco-friendly.
As the name suggests, guests will be accommodated in “nests” with sleeping areas, living room, bathrooms and terraces. The 14 nests will be set among the dunes in Dubai Nature Reserve and will be seamlessly integrated into the Arabian Desert landscape.
In addition to the outdoor excursions, guests can enjoy the gastronomic experiences created by Executive Chef Frank Sanna, including wood-fired oven pizzas, Wagyu beef steaks, Mediterranean seafood and Syrian olives. The new camp will be located next door to Sonara Camp. It is scheduled to open on 23 September.
Terra Solis, an eco-resort inspired by Belgium’s Tomorrowland electronic music festival, will open in the Dubai desert in September. The glamping destination will offer luxury tents, restaurants and swimming pools, as well as a range of hedonistic parties.
The first season will run until June 2023. The resort will be a huge oasis covering an area of 371,000 square metres. Guests will be able to choose from three accommodation options: 48 Polaris Bell tents, 20 Perseid cabins or one of six Orion cottages with a pool and terrace. As the names suggest, the project was inspired by a map of the starry sky.
Guests will socialise and relax by the pool during the day and listen to music and dance among the dunes at night. The resort is expected to serve guests in a restaurant, bar and hookah parlour.
In the autumn of 2021, the first luxury glamping resort called Moon Retreat opened in the Mleiha Desert of Sharjah Emirate. The project was conceived by the Emirate’s Investment and Development Authority.
Lovers of outdoor relaxation and overnight stays under the stars will enjoy 10 tents with single beds, 4 family size tents and 10 tents with single beds. Each has cooking facilities and bathrooms.
BBQ facilities can be pre-ordered, barbecue facilities are available and guests can also explore the surrounding dunes and stargaze at night.
