WGES encourages registration for summit
The organisers of the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) invite everyone to register for the summit on the summit website to be able to participate in high-level events, workshops, panel discussions and youth circles held during the 8th WGES Summit. The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO) are organising the WGES under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on 28 and 29 September 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Each year, WGES attracts a number of local and international personalities, including presidents and heads of government, as well as several world leaders and influencers, speakers, officials, government and media representatives, experts and academics.
H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Supreme Council for Energy, Director General of DEWA and Chairman of the World Green Economy Summit said: “WGES is an important global platform aimed at strengthening partnerships and sharing experiences among the most prominent decision-makers, as well as supporting cooperation between regional and global institutions and organisations from the public and private sectors. This year’s WGES is of particular importance as the UAE prepares to host the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change at Expo City in Dubai in 2023.”
The World Green Economy Summit will discuss the path towards a bright future in which businesses rely on renewable energy, cities rethink waste management and transport, and work with communities and individuals to offset the worst effects of food and water insecurity.
The Summit regularly organizes circles for young people to engage them in sustainable development and the green economy before they enter the job market. VIPs, officials, professionals, speakers, experts, local and global investors participate in youth circles to encourage sustainable development efforts.
