Roxy Cinemas: a unique cinema in Dubai Hills Mall

Dubai is getting ready to open a cinema centre with the biggest screen in the Middle East – Roxy Cinemas at Dubai Hills Mall. The 15-screen Roxy Cinemas, each with full reclining seats, is expected to open on August 31.

The cinema will boast a 423-square-metre giant Roxy Xtreme screen – twice the size of a tennis court. The screen will be able to seat 382 spectators in Standard, Premium and Director’s Boxes simultaneously.

Director’s Boxes are the first director’s boxes in the UAE and are suites located above the auditorium and will accommodate up to 12 guests in an intimate environment. As such they cater for large families, groups of friends or colleagues. The boxes will be served by personal waiters.

It is noted that seven (platinum) lounges out of 15 will be operational in October. Juicy burgers and gourmet desserts will be served there and can be ordered at the cafe before the movie starts. Popcorn, nachos and hot dogs will be offered to audiences in the “silver” rooms.

Tickets can be booked closer to the opening date at theroxycinemas.com or via the Roxy Cinemas app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Dubai Hills Mall is a new shopping and entertainment centre in a fashionable residential area of Dubai, surrounded by well-kept green lawns. It is surrounded by a lush park.

Its 185,000 square metres of space houses more than 600 shops, restaurants and cafés. There is a hypermarket, a cinema, a shopping arcade and four large family entertainment centres, amongst other amenities.

One of the main attractions of the centre is The Storm, an indoor roller coaster for those who love to get their nerves pumped. Under the roof of Dubai Hills Mall you’ll find shops offering everything from clothes to perfumes, furniture and food.

Children will have a great time at the Adventure Park which has 11 play areas. The centre also regularly hosts fun events and pop-up activities.
