Winter City in Expo City Dubai invites to enjoy 50 days of festivities
Expo City Dubai’s Winter City will entertain the whole family during the festive season.
From 23 November 2022 to 8 January 2023, the Mobility District, Surreal Water Complex and Al Wasl Plaza will be transformed into a magical land with a traditional chalet-style Christmas market, pine trees and fun fair games as well as a towering Christmas tree and a station to send letters to Santa.
Expo City Dubai will kick off on 20 November with a family-friendly ‘Fan City’ celebrating the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Expo City Dubai will offer 50 days of festivities that will convey the spirit of the season.
Winter City will also celebrate 51 years of the UAE with National Day celebrations from 30 November to 2 December and a special concert on 2 December.
Other highlights at Al Wasl include a dazzling ceremony on Friday 9 December that will bring Winter City’s ‘White Christmas’ to life with the lighting of a stunning 52-foot Christmas tree; the second edition of the popular Expo 2020 Christmas show ‘Mrs Claus’ from 20 to 29 December; the first of its kind ‘Candlelight Carols’ from 20 to 25 December; and nighttime projection shows.
The permanent seasonal glow includes jumping, gliding, climbing and ziplining, as well as workshops to make gingerbread, wreaths and decorations, a toy factory that makes bespoke teddy bears and Santa’s grotto, while hot chocolate, mulled wine and mince pies complete the food and drink offering.
Children aged 6 to 12 can take part in Expo City Dubai’s action-packed winter camp and enjoy unique indoor and outdoor activities during the two themed weeks in December.
Expo City Dubai is now a dog-friendly destination and four-legged friends can enjoy extensive outdoor areas with special stations offering free water bowls, dog treats and litter bags.
Winter City is free to visit, with charges applicable for some activities and workshops.
