DFC opens fitness hubs across the city
The sixth and largest annual Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) has kicked off, bringing 30 days of packed events across the city and hundreds of family events and workouts at a record 19 fitness centres across the city.
The 2022 flagship fitness initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, offers the largest calendar of free and inclusive fitness events, activities and classes across the city.
This year, the DFC has opened 19 new fitness centres across the city, including Bluewaters, Champs Sports & Fitness Club, Dubai Design District (D3), DIFC, DMCC at Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dragon Mart, Dubai Police Officers Club, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Inspiratus Sport District (ISD) at Dubai Sports City, Dubai Hatta Hub, Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL), The Palm Jumeirah, The Space at Dubai Investment Park, Zabeel Ladies Club, Zabeel Sports District, The Beach at JBR, Sport Society, Dubai Hills Mall and Dubai Festival City Mall.
Each fitness centre supports DFC’s goal of inspiring everyone to achieve a healthier future through 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days.
From dawn to dusk, fitness enthusiasts and newcomers can work out with Dubai residents in their local communities, whether it’s dynamic HIIT classes, SH-BAM dance workouts, yoga and Pilates classes at dawn or new activities from water sports to martial arts.
Residents can choose from hundreds of free classes, from hiking and mountain hiking in Wadi Hatta, to working out in Body Combat, Spin or Zumba classes, or taking a challenge on the treadmill.
Family-oriented classes will help residents of all age groups and abilities get motivated and get moving, while kids-oriented group exercises will get the little ones moving and promote team building and sportsmanship.
At the same time, women-only workouts will inspire women of all ages to come together and support each other on their fitness journey under the guidance of female instructors and personal trainers.
Throughout the month, mass events will promote community cohesion while exercising, including the LES MILLS BODY COMBAT event at Dubai Silicon Oasis Fitness Centre on 6 November, while The Beach Fitness Centre will host fitness classes on the lawn (opposite The Beach Pavilion) from 29 October to 27 November 2022 from Friday to Sunday twice a day – at sunrise (8:30am) and sunset (5:30pm).
The DFC offer includes not only free community fitness activities and classes, but also free workouts, expert advice and counselling on sports, physical activity, healthy eating and other issues that support the overall health, vitality and physical well-being of the community. With DFC Dubai provides an ideal opportunity to incorporate physical activity into your daily routine, as well as easy access to fitness and sports facilities, encouraging everyone to live a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Dates for all fitness facilities are listed on the DFC website.
