UAE National Day celebration in Expo City Dubai
Expo City Dubai will mark the 51st UAE National Day with a series of events embodying the spirit of unification and highlighting the country’s heritage, inviting all ages to join the celebration from 1 to 4 December 2022.
This year marks the 51st National Day since the creation of the UAE by its founding fathers, who laid the foundation for unprecedented achievements and a vision for the country’s future – a source of pride for its people and a beacon of hope and opportunity that attracts the world.
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashemi, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of the Expo City Dubai Authority, said: “National Day is an opportunity to reflect on the many benefits bestowed on the UAE and its people by the country’s visionary leadership, which has contributed to its significant triumphs and made the quality of life and happiness of UAE residents its top priority. Throughout the year, we are driven by our love for our country, leaders and people, and every December 2, we renew our pledge of allegiance to our homeland and our leaders, intensifying our efforts and commitment to further national progress, cooperation and partnerships that strengthen the UAE as a place of peace, prosperity, love and security for all.”
On National Day itself (2 December), visitors will see for the first time a performance of Al Azi, a stylistic celebration of traditional Arab values of unity, solidarity and courage, led by Emirati poet Al Wasmi at the Surreal water feature. In the evening, the iconic Al Wasl Plaza will be the heart of the celebration with immersive projections, followed by an unforgettable performance by regional singers Eida Al Menhali and Dalia Mubarak.
From 1-4 December, visitors will also be able to experience Emirati hospitality and tradition outdoors with a cultural market and strolling bands. Meanwhile, Terra – Sustainable Development, Alif – Mobility and Vision Pavilion will host a number of events ranging from arts and crafts to photo exhibitions and traditional workshops.
A human-centric city designed to live in harmony with nature, Expo City Dubai was founded on the deep belief that a broad coalition of people working together can drive human progress to help create a more sustainable and dignified future for all. The city is a groundbreaking legacy of an exceptional global event that is now part of the UAE’s list of outstanding achievements.
