Hatta Honey Festival starts December 27
Hatta, one of Dubai’s most distinctive places, wraps up a year packed with experiences and activities, including the seventh edition of the Hatta Honey Festival. The five-day Dubai Municipality Festival supports traditional beekeeping, one of the region’s oldest and most popular crafts.
During the festival, which will take place from December 27 to 31, 2022 at the Hatta Community Centre, experts and professional beekeepers will share their knowledge and know-how on honey production and explore innovative ways to improve honey quality. More than 50 beekeepers from across the country will participate in the Hatta Honey Festival.
Hatta has established itself as one of Dubai’s top tourist attractions. The activities on offer in the Hatta region are a key focus of the ongoing #Dubai Destinations winter campaign by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai government’s media office. The region’s picturesque mountain scenery, archaeological sites and other tourist attractions such as Hatta Fort, Hatta Dam, Hatta Heritage Village and Hatta Hill Park feature prominently in the campaign. The region is renowned for producing the highest quality honey.
The seventh festival will have a family market, children’s play area, honey sample testing corner and valuable gifts will be distributed to guests. At the event, guests will be able to learn about the different varieties of honey and the characteristics of each one. Previous editions of this festival have attracted a significant audience, making it one of the most prestigious festivals and events in Dubai.
The campaign also highlights Hatta’s exceptional recreational facilities, luxury resorts and a variety of adventure activities such as camping, cycling, hiking and swimming. Mount Hatta Reserve, home to many rare birds and animals, is one of the highlights of the #DubaiDestinations winter campaign.
The Hatta Honey Festival, launched in 2017, is part of a wider initiative to boost the area’s appeal and improve services and tourist facilities in the area. The festival coincides with the second edition of the Hatta Cultural Nights, which will be held from 21 December 2022 to 1 January 2023 and will focus on Emirati heritage, folklore, music and poetry.
