Express bus launch from Dubai to Hatta
Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has made life easier for emirate residents and visitors wishing to visit Hatta. The Hatta Express Bus has been launched especially for those who love the outdoors and mountain scenery.
The journey takes around 1 hour 30 minutes and costs AED 25 each way. The express bus departs from The Dubai Mall (stop near the tourist bus stand) and arrives at Hatta Bus Station.
The express bus operates every day between 07:00 and 19:00 and departs from Dubai every two hours. Payment can be made by NOL card or cash (to the driver). The last bus departs from Hatta at 19:00 hrs.
The mountainous region of Hatta will develop into a major tourist destination in the coming years with a new market, cycle tracks and an artificial beach. Such projects are contained in the Hatta Master Plan for the next 20 years.
The plan includes recommendations for designing buildings in the highlands, optimising the road network, renovating the Heritage Village and creating opportunities for local businesses and farmers.
Hatta has already built an 11.5km cycle path from the bus station to the causeway, with another 6km path in the town and a 5.5km mountain bike route through the archaeological sites planned for the near future.
Work has begun on the construction of a local market where farmers will be able to sell vegetables, fruit and other fresh produce. Nearby there will be cafes, restaurants and playgrounds for customers with children.
The beach project includes an artificial lagoon and a lake with an area for relaxing on the sand. Leisure facilities will be created on the promenade. A new bus route is planned to connect Dubai and Hatta. There are plans to plant 13,000 trees for landscaping purposes.
