Dubai Future Readiness Index launched at WGS 2023
Dubai Future Readiness Index is the world’s first metric to measure how well public authorities are prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. It was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, at the World Government Summit 2023.
According to Sheikh Hamdan, the Dubai Future Readiness Index could become a global model to help other governments develop strategies for their nations. It will also help position Dubai as a city that prioritises well-being, security and the ability to overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
The new ranking will take into account 66 indicators in five key areas. It was created by the Dubai Future Foundation and the Dubai Government Excellence Programme. It will identify areas for collaboration and knowledge sharing among government agencies, resulting in increased efficiency.
As Sheikh Hamdan recalled, Dubai’s government ecosystem is built on continuous innovation, proactive planning and an integrated approach to anticipating future trends. This ecosystem has strengthened Dubai’s position as a leader in terms of future readiness and as a provider of outstanding public services – regionally and globally.
Dubai Future Readiness Index will encourage public institutions to create a culture of innovation, excellence and leadership, and encourage a proactive approach to improving preparedness for future challenges. The results of the ranking will be published every two years and will be evaluated by independent global experts.
