Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan becomes Vice-President of the UAE
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan has become the second Vice President of the United Arab Emirates. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will also remain as Vice President.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed previously served as deputy prime minister of the UAE and minister of the presidential court. He was appointed Minister of Presidential Affairs in 2004, Chairman of the Ministerial Council for Development in 2006, and Chairman of the Emirates Investment Authority in 2007.
Sheikh Mansour is also Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, a member of the Abu Dhabi Supreme Petroleum Council and a board member of many investment organisations.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born on November 21, 1970 in Abu Dhabi, where he attended school and then went on to study in the US, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in international relations in 1993.
During the formation of the new cabinet in May 2009, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and in July 2022 he was appointed Minister of the Presidency by a federal decree of the UAE President.
Alongside this, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, appointed Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed and Tahnoon bin Zayed as Deputy Rulers of Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, eldest son of the current President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has become the new Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Emirate.
The appointment decree was also signed by the UAE president. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Nahyan is also currently a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Committee and the Abu Dhabi Executive Office.
