Great Place to Work Certificate goes to DEWA
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has been awarded the Great Place to Work Certificate® 2023. This award, in collaboration with Fortune magazine, recognises organisations for their outstanding achievements in providing the best working environment. DEWA was ranked first among government organisations in the UAE and the GCC. H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, was honoured with the Leadership of the Year Award for successfully leading DEWA to the highest international quality standards.
The Great Place to Work Institute in the UAE conducted a wide-ranging and independent analysis to gather feedback from employees as part of its work environment survey. The institute assesses the working environment and culture in organisations that achieve excellence and productivity. Business leaders and researchers rely on its metrics to identify the best workplaces.
Al Tayer expressed his delight at receiving the certificate for the fourth time. The first time DEWA received the certificate was in 2019. Al Tayer stressed that this success reflects DEWA’s continued commitment to invest in human resources as the most important factor for success and excellence and to keep pace with rapid change to maintain DEWA’s global leadership and excellence.
The Great Place to Work Institute noted that DEWA has successfully created a work culture built on open communication channels, where employees can express their ideas and concerns to management. Employees are also treated with respect and fairness, which contributes to a positive work environment. The institute expressed its pride in DEWA’s win and its confidence that DEWA’s unique workplace culture will make others follow suit.
DEWA won the Investors in People Award in the Platinum Category 2022, the highest level of the award. This achievement underlines DEWA’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive, motivating and happy working environment. DEWA is the only organisation at the large enterprise level (over 5,000 employees) to be certified in the Platinum Category worldwide (excluding the UK). DEWA is also the only organisation at large enterprise level (over 5,000 employees) to be certified Platinum Category in the Middle East. DEWA has won the gold category of the same award in 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2019.
