Abu Dhabi named one of the world’s most luxurious holiday destinations
Abu Dhabi has been ranked as the second most luxurious tourist destination in the world by online platform slingo.com. The ranking was based on the number of five-star hotels operating in the city.
It turns out that in the capital of the United Arab Emirates 22% of all hotels are rated five stars. First place (42% of hotels) went to Bequia, a small island in the Grenadines, which is only 7 square miles in size.
Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic were also ranked. The UAE capital is famous for its hotel palaces, liners that carry falcons in the cabin, and numerous gold dishes.
It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi achieved a high ranking not only because of the number of luxurious hotels, but also because of the high level of security, the large number of cultural and natural attractions, theme parks, and restaurants.
Abu Dhabi has previously won the title of the smartest metropolis in the Middle East and North Africa region – the United Arab Emirates’ capital has topped the Smart City Index 2023 for the third year in a row.
The ranking is compiled by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland in cooperation with the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). Globally, Abu Dhabi was ranked 13th out of 141 in 2023, with Dubai ranked 17th.
It is noted that Abu Dhabi was named the smartest due to the use of next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, as well as the development of many smart initiatives, including in the transport and logistics sectors.
