Emirates launches business jet flights

Emirates Airline is launching on-demand business jet flights – the aircraft will operate short flights to neighbouring Gulf countries. The flights will depart from Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

The flights will be operated by twin-engine Phenom 100 aircraft to destinations in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and cities in the United Arab Emirates. The business jet will seat up to four passengers.

During the flight, travellers will be offered snacks and refreshments and will be allowed to check in one medium-sized bag weighing up to 15kg along with their hand luggage. In Dubai, travellers will have access to a limousine driver to take them to the airport.

Upon arrival at the terminal, guests will receive a VIP escort by an airline representative who will accompany them all the way to boarding. A similar escort will be offered at the destination, along with a quick passage through customs and passport control. Passengers will be given access to a private lounge.

Earlier, the world’s first robotic assistant accepted by Emirates airline began performing passenger check-in functions. The robot, named Sarah, works in the ICD Brookfield Place building of Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), which is home to the carrier’s city check-in service.

The centre is open daily, from 08:00 to 22:00, and accepts baggage from passengers no earlier than 24 hours and no later than 4 hours before the flight. In addition, the service offers services such as booking airline tickets, check-in and purchasing pre-departure essentials.

Passengers can check-in through self-check-in kiosks, at dedicated counters at Emirates agents or with the help of Sara. This will be the first time they will interact with a robot capable of scanning their faces, checking them against their passport photos and issuing boarding passes. In the future, the robots will be able to carry luggage.
