Art.coordinate Foundation organises Teen Art Awards
Art.coordinate Foundation with the support of SEE Institute Dubai Sustainable City is organising an international Teen Art Awards competition for teenagers from 13 to 17 years old in the field of contemporary art. The theme is “Sustainable World: Future Society through the lens of art”.
The competition accepts works in different genres of art: painting, drawing, digital art, photography, video art, performance art, and text about art. Each of the applicants should try to answer the question of how they want to see the world of the future. The deadline for applications is 30 November 2023. Details are available at teenartawards.com.
The jury members include prominent UAE residents Azza Al Qubaisi, jewellery artist, designer and sculptor; Maysoun Al Saleh, artist, writer and CEO of The Paintly Store Maysoun; and Ghada Kunash, founder of The Workshop and art gallery Fann A Porter.
An exhibition of the winners and runners-up will be held at the SEE Institute Dubai Sustainable City art space in March 2024.
Teen Art Awards is not just a competition, it is a way to get support and assistance from the art community, professional development, realisation of the boldest ideas, as well as an opportunity to meet representatives of the art community.
The first competition took place in the summer of 2022. Teenagers from eight countries took part in it. The Grand Prix was awarded to a Polish artist for a series of graphic works. Last year, the project of the Art.coordinate Foundation First International Teen Art Awards became the winner and took the 3rd place among the best online projects of the international award “Culture Online”.
