Burj Khalifa becomes world’s most popular landmark
Dubai’s famous Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the world’s tallest building, has been named the most popular attraction on the planet. About 17 million people visit the tower, located in the very centre of Dubai, every year.
This number is a record, says the analytical website Switch On Business, which compiled the rating. The platform analysed the average number of visitors for 150 of the world’s most famous landmarks, as well as the number of internet searches.
The magnificent Burj Khalifa, which is 828 metres high, receives almost 22 million searches on Google, and visitors bring it US$ 621 million a year in revenue. The second line of the rating was occupied by the Indian Taj Mahal – it is visited by 7.5 million people (22 million search queries per year).
According to experts, the Burj Khalifa is a must-see for travellers arriving in Dubai. The cost of a visit starts from AED 80. The Burj Khalifa skyscraper has two observation decks: At the Top – on the 124th and 125th floors and At The Top Sky – on the 148th floor at a height of 555 metres. Visitors to Burj Khalifa’s At.Mosphere restaurant also enjoy incredible views of the city.
Travellers have previously praised the stunning views from the observation decks and windows of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa skyscraper, the world’s tallest building. In a ranking compiled by Buildworld, Dubai’s main skyscraper was ranked among the top 10 buildings in the world with the most beautiful views.
Burj Khalifa was ranked 6th in the global ranking, with the regional ranking naming it as the structure with the best views in Asia and the Middle East. On the Tripadvisor travel platform the term “beautiful views” is mentioned in reviews of the skyscraper 2132 times (these reviews were taken into account when compiling the rating). The first place of the rating was won by the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
