Baccarat Dubai hotel to be opened in 2027
In Dubai it was announced the postponement of the opening of the new luxury hotel Baccarat Dubai: if earlier it was planned that it will start receiving guests in 2026, now the plans have been postponed for another year.
It is worth noting that the ultra-luxury brand was originally planned to be built back in 2008 as part of the Dubai Pearl project, which is now under demolition. After 14 years, the project decided to move to the city centre.
The new owner Shamal Holdings is expected to place the Baccarat Dubai hotel in a mixed-use development in the centre of Dubai, in two towers overlooking the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Frame. Plans call for 144 branded rooms and suites, 49 residences and four restaurants and bars.
Shamal Holding will work closely with H&H Development, a property investor, developer and asset manager based in Dubai. Baccarat Hotels & Resorts is part of Starwood Capital Group, a private investment group with more than US$60bn in assets.
Baccarat is one of the world’s most elite crystal brands. The history of the brand dates back to 1764, when King Louis XV organised the production of glass in the town of Baccarat in the east of France.
As it became known earlier, the state investment corporation of Dubai Dubai Holding most likely acquired a land plot at the trunk of The Palm Jumeirah island, where the long construction Dubai Pearl intended for demolition is located. Demolition of the project began back in January 2023.
Al Areesh is currently working on dismantling the buildings and clearing the land plot. Plans to launch the project were announced back in 2002, but it was frozen in 2008. Dubai Pearl was supposed to include 4 towers, in which it was supposed to arrange 1490 apartments, seven five-star hotels, 60 restaurants and a theatre for 1600 seats.
