DAMAC Mall opens its doors
Shopping opportunities have expanded in Dubai with a new DAMAC Mall opening its doors in the bedroom community of DAMAC Hills. DAMAC Mall is expected to become a popular shopping and leisure destination for residents of the neighbourhood.
Amira Sajwani, managing director of sales and development at DAMAC Properties, attended the opening ceremony. DAMAC Mall will occupy an area of 110,000 square feet and will feature 30 retail shops and 10 restaurants and bars.
The collection includes both regional and international brands such as Starbucks, Papa John’s, Vietnamese Foodies, American Wax, Al Jaber Opticals, Al Ain Pharmacy, Lingo Play Area and others.
In addition, Spinneys premium supermarket will operate in the mall. A Fitness First gym and a MEDCARE specialised medical centre are planned to open in the near future. The mall is expected to serve 1.3 million visitors per year.
As the surrounding area continues to grow and be populated by new residents, the shopping centre is planned to expand over time. Design work for the new space is already underway.
Earlier, one of Dubai’s largest developers Emaar announced the launch of a new Dubai Expo Mall – it will open in 2024 in Emaar South, near Al Maktoum International Airport.
The mall will open more than 190 shops and food outlets, with a total area of 385,000 square feet. As such, it will be one of Emaar’s smallest shopping centres. In comparison, Dubai Hills Mall has 1.8 million square feet of retail space and Dubai Mall has 4.2 million square feet of retail space.
