Sheikh Mohammed to release new book for children

The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) has announced the launch of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed’s second book for children titled ‘The Journey from the Desert to the Stars’. The launch coincides with the completion of astronaut Sultan Al Neyyadi’s six-month mission to the ISS.

Astronaut Sultan Al Neyyadi marked the occasion by reading selected passages from the book live from aboard the ISS. In a video posted on social media, the astronaut said:

“Today I am very pleased to share with you from space the launch of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s second book for children. It features inspirational stories from the life of His Highness, written in an engaging way, and aimed at children from all over the world. In one of the stories, His Highness describes the UAE’s space journey, which began during the time of the late Sheikh Zayed.”

Sultan Al Neyyadi also noted that the book reflects His Highness’s endeavour to create a bright future and instil the values of patriotism and loyalty among the youth.

Through the book, Sheikh Mohammed wants to convey to young readers the lessons he learnt from the diverse experiences of his childhood and adolescence, which shaped his values and outlook on life.

The five stories in the book represent memories of key moments in the UAE’s journey of development. These stories show how the country’s achievements reflect His Highness’s belief that perseverance is the key to success.

Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Director General of GDMO, said the book ‘The Journey from the Desert to the Stars’ gives young readers a deep understanding of His Highness’s values of loyalty, belonging and service to the nation.
