Eco-friendly hotels in Dubai
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism has compiled a selection of eco-friendly hotels that care about the environment. It is specified that more and more resorts in the emirate are beginning to support such initiatives.
For example, the Jumeirah Al Naseem resort has a unique Turtle Lagoon, created as part of the Dubai Sea Turtle Recovery Project (DTRP). The lagoon is open to guests daily and admission is free. In addition, anyone is welcome to join in the feeding of the turtles.
On the territory of Andaz Dubai The Palm boutique hotel there is a unique farm where organic vegetables and herbs are grown. It is this produce that is used to prepare dishes in the hotel’s restaurants, including The Locale and Hanami.
Al Maha Resort, a member of Eco Luxury Retreats of the World, is located in the middle of a nature reserve and pays great attention to the preservation of the desert ecosystem. The animal world of Al Maha is very diverse: here you can meet gazelles, many birds, as well as a rare Arabian oryx.
Sofitel Dubai The Palm is a multiple winner of the World Travel Awards in the category “Best Eco-Hotel in the Middle East”. The eco-friendly hotel’s staff is guided by the highest environmental standards in hospitality. Part of the hotel’s budget is invested in a greening programme and the hotel’s restaurants use sustainable ingredients.
