Dubai Design Week children’s masterclass programme
Dubai Design Week will offer a host of masterclasses for children and adults. This weekend fair will run from Saturday, 11 November to Sunday, 12 November, showcasing more than 50 brands that promote sustainability.
Puppet Palooza: Shadow Theatre by Lina Younes
In this workshop, kids will be able to make their own puppet using colourful pieces of fabric, buttons and ribbons. They will also learn about puppet theatre and marionettes.
Art of Looking by Kapilom Bhimekarom
Children can unleash their creativity through improvisation and observational techniques with Kapil Bhimekarom. During the session, small 3D props and real objects will be used to create unique pieces.
Eco-friendly drawing by Eezee Doodles
Eezee Doodles will teach children how to draw using eco-friendly materials. During the workshop, children will be given tubes of non-toxic paint and stencils to colour in.
Architecture for children from Sneha Divias Atelier
Budding architects can learn the basics from award-winning architect Sneha Divias. She will introduce children to the industry in a class on architectural forms and lines.
Adults can find something to do too at Dubai Design Week. For example, Mary Clare Kirwan’s The Art of Play workshop will experiment with natural dyes to create abstract art, while Khadija Rushdie’s Glass Fusing will see her create a cup holder from glass pieces.
In addition to these masterclasses, the event will also feature exhibitions, installations, discussions and pop-up stalls.
