Global Village sets new world record
Global Village Multicultural Park, a popular family attraction for visitors and residents of Dubai, has broken another world record. The world’s largest illuminated bird sculpture has been installed in the park. The achievement has already entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The sculpture is a steel falcon with wings spread wide and symbolises a tribute to the national bird of the UAE. The installation reaches a height of almost 8 metres and the wingspan is more than 22 metres.
The huge wonder bird weighs more than 8,000 kilograms. The striking falcon is illuminated by 50 thousand lights, offering park visitors a fantastic and unique place for Instagram photos and selfies.
Built to commemorate its importance to UAE culture and identity, the falcon is a dazzling sight that can only be seen at Global Village. The sculpture is located in the ‘Mini World’.
As previously reported, the Mini World, located behind Restaurant Alley and covering an area of 10,000 square metres, is an exciting collaboration of symbols of global cultures, featuring 25 miniature replicas of famous landmarks such as the Burj Al Arab, Arc de Triomphe and the Pyramids of Giza.
Surrounding these landmarks are 30 food outlets, including kiosks and food trucks, offering authentic cuisine from the countries of origin of each monument and taking visitors on extraordinary gastronomic journeys.
For many residents and visitors to the Emirate, Global Village is a favourite place to shop and visit entertainment venues, food stalls and attractions. Global Village Multicultural Park will welcome visitors until 28 April 2024.
