Sharjah gets new brand identity

The Emirate of Sharjah, considered the cultural capital of the United Arab Emirates, has received a new logo and a new identity. It reflects the cultural characteristics as well as the region’s distinctive heritage.

The new identity was unveiled at a ceremony on Al Noor Island in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council.

Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Al Qassimi said that the new brand reflects the spirit of the Emirate, which endeavours not only to develop in all fields, but also to provide first-class services to ensure the continued growth of the region.

The new brand identity has been designed to reflect the emirate’s strengths and distinctive features, as well as its growing appeal as a centre for living, tourism, study, work and investment.

As previously reported, Sharjah International Airport is set to expand with the construction of a new terminal at a cost of US$ 654 million. The project is expected to be completed as early as 2024.

It is about the largest terminal with an area of 190 thousand square metres, which will increase the capacity of Sharjah Airport up to 20 million passengers per year.

It is planned to separate departure and arrival zones, increase the number of self-check-in counters, renovate waiting rooms and restaurant courtyards. A hotel for transit passengers may also appear at the airport.
