Lotus Eletre R to patrol Dubai streets
Dubai Tourist Police has added a luxury electric car Lotus Eletre R to its fleet. The novelty has already been “dressed up” in the branded green and white livery of the law enforcement agency.
The Lotus Eletre R is equipped with two electric motors with a power of 905 horsepower and is recognised as the world’s fastest two-engine electric SUV among universal sports cars.
The electric car has a range of 600 kilometres. The eco-friendly, versatile vehicle will patrol Dubai’s tourist areas such as Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, JBR and others.
In December 2023, Dubai Police added a McLaren Artura hybrid supercar, capable of travelling up to 330 km/h, to its fleet of vehicles. The car is powered by a twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid petrol engine, an eight-speed gearbox and a compact electric motor.
Dubai Police will receive 400 smart patrol cars in the next five years. The emirate’s tourist police force is already known to have supercars from brands such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Ferrari, Bentley, Porsche, McLaren and others in service.
The police are keen to showcase luxury car brands to tourists to continue to amaze visitors from around the world, and electric cars to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability.
The Dubai Police’s luxury patrol cars can be found near the world’s largest shopping and entertainment complex, Dubai Mall, on the emirate’s main streets. They also accompany ceremonial and sporting events such as yacht shows, the Dubai Marathon or the UAE Cycling Tour.
