UAE President gives Abu Dhabi Awards
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, honoured eight achievers for their notable contributions to the development of the UAE at the Abu Dhabi Awards ceremony.
During the event, people whose contributions have had a positive impact on the UAE in areas such as education, sustainable development, medicine, humanitarian aid, public awareness and empowerment of people of determinations needs were recognised.
The President congratulated all the awardees, recognising their inspiring efforts and significant contributions in serving the community.
The awardees included Amna Khalifa Al Qemzi, a pioneer in the field of organic agriculture who has dedicated herself to promoting environmental sustainability;
Dr. Ahmed Osman Shatila, a consultant neurologist who runs a multiple sclerosis clinic and has continuously given back his knowledge and expertise for the benefit of UAE society;
Imen Sfaxi, who bravely used her first aid expertise to help victims during the 2022 Abu Dhabi apartment block fire;
Salaamah Saif Al Teneij, who in her 16th year has played an active role in raising awareness about various topics important to children, including bullying prevention and internet safety;
Klaithem Obaid Al Matrooshi, a human rights innovator working to empower people with special needs;
Mezna Matar Al Mansoori, who has made significant contributions to child development and has helped several generations. She is described as a virtuous educator, a caring and inspiring mother, and works tirelessly to instil in children and youth the fundamentals of civic responsibility and the values of tolerance and kindness;
Saeed Naseeb Al Mansoori, who has become a role model through his generosity, philanthropic endeavours and exemplary citizenship. One of his most notable contributions has been his unwavering support for education in the Al Wathba region for over 30 years;
John Sexton, known for his dedication to education, most notably through his key role in the founding of New York University Abu Dhabi. Through his unwavering support for students, Sexton has had a positive impact on the lives of many in the UAE and around the world.
