Dubai Municipality removes large rubbish for free

Dubai Municipality has announced the introduction of a new free service for all residents of the emirate. Anyone can take advantage of the opportunity to remove bulky household rubbish from their homes and neighbourhoods.

Under this category of things fall household furniture, electrical appliances, electronics and much more. This requires requesting the Dubai Waste Management Department to remove residual or bulky rubbish to designated areas.

The City Council’s initiative is very timely – the recent rains in the UAE have flooded many homes, damaging or destroying household items. Residents will have to get rid of their old belongings before purchasing new furniture, appliances or kitchen appliances.

To avail of the new free service, an application must be submitted to the Department via WhatsApp messenger on 800900.

Within three days of receiving the application for rubbish collection, residents will definitely be contacted by a Dubai Municipality official and an appointment will be made for rubbish collection.

Once the rubbish collection is completed, the residents who have submitted the request will receive an SMS message about its fulfilment.
