Blue Residency to attract talents to UAE
The UAE’s new 10-year Blue Residency visa will attract a host of talent to the country, contribute to environmental goals, and boost the construction and property sectors, according to government ministers and business leaders.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “In line with the national directives of the UAE President, who has declared 2024 as the year of sustainable development, we have introduced the Blue Visa, a ten-year residency permit for individuals who have made exceptional contributions to environmental protection as well as promoting sustainable technologies.”
The Blue Residency visa is open to environmental advocates, including members of international organisations, international companies, members of associations and non-governmental organisations, winners of international awards, and outstanding environmental activists and researchers.
Applicants interested in applying for the UAE Blue Residency Visa can submit their applications directly through the Federal Authority for Identification, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), or by nominating candidates recommended for it by the competent authorities of the state.
The construction industry is expected to show rapid growth after the introduction of the new visa. The building, construction and real estate sector is a veritable theatre for the application of sustainable development and environmental conservation, including urban planning, engineering and architectural projects.
In addition, the sector is closely linked to related areas such as building, decoration and furniture materials recycled or manufactured to green standards, as well as heating and cooling processes that protect natural resources and reduce energy consumption.
Blue Residency will play an important role in advancing the UAE’s efforts to create a sustainable future for all.
