New UAE cabinet members take the oath
The new members of the UAE Cabinet took the oath of office on Thursday, 18 July, in front of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Court.
In a ceremony held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, the oath of office was administered by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who became Deputy Prime Minister while retaining the position of UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In addition, Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, Sara bint Yousef Al Amiri, Minister of Education, Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Manpower and Emiratisation, also acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Alia bint Abdullah Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Business Affairs, took the oath of office.
The UAE President wished the newly appointed ministers success in fulfilling their national duty to improve their respective sectors and make tangible contributions to strategic national plans that positively impact the country’s development and meet the needs of their people.
The President said: ‘Our unwavering approach is one of continuous development and improvement. To serve the interests of present and future generations, we must keep abreast of global best practices, especially in education, science and technology.’
