Lindsay Lohan reveals how Dubai changed her life

Famous actress Lindsay Lohan told how moving to Dubai in 2014 affected her life and attitude to the world and career. According to the star, living away from Hollywood helped her find herself: ‘Just taking time for yourself or being with your family, I think that’s really important.’

Lindsay Lohan is learnt to have moved to Dubai all alone to deal with a host of problems in her personal life. After a long stint in rehab centres, attacks from journalists and career setbacks, the actress needed to disappear and be alone to sort herself out.

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis, Lindsay Lohan’s colleague from the film ‘Freaky Friday’, praised the actress for the brave and right thing to do: ‘I’m most impressed that she moved to Dubai alone and lived with almost no one for five years’.

But it wasn’t just herself the actress found in the Emirates. Lindsay Lohan met Bader Shammas, her future husband, in Dubai in 2020, and last year the couple had their firstborn, a boy named Luay.

Ahead of her son’s birth last year, the actress spoke about her home in Dubai, filled with furniture made from recycled materials and goods from local brands. ‘I wanted to create a beautiful and tranquil home for me and my family, with a soothing palette of neutral hues complemented by nautical details,’ Lindsay Lohan revealed.

‘It took moving to Dubai for me to really appreciate the time I take for myself instead of just running around somewhere. The Emirate also taught me how to say no. I found that I have a personal life and I can just take time for myself and my family. I decided to stay in Dubai because I learnt to appreciate that you can come to Hollywood, do your work and then go home and live a normal life,’ the actress said.
