Dubai updates list of free entertainment options
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has updated the list of free entertainment options in the city before the start of the new tourist season.
Traditionally, one of the most popular free attractions remains the Dubai Fountain, the tallest dancing fountain in the world. The spectators will be treated to a light and music show that is second to none.
The IMAGINE laser show at Dubai Festival City is a laser light show with sound effects that has made it into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo – Dubai Mall’s aquarium is home to over 33,000 sea creatures. The outside of the aquarium is free to view.
Mohammed bin Rashid Library – Dubai’s cultural and educational centre on the Dubai Creek waterfront. It houses over one million printed and digital books in various languages, rare manuscripts, a café, patio, bookstore, and an amphitheatre with a sliding roof.
Jameel Arts Centre – an independent arts venue that organises exhibitions, art events and lectures. Alserkal Avenue is the city’s creative space with over 40 art galleries, dance studios, trendy cafes, etc. It hosts contemporary art exhibitions and open-air festivals.
Souk Madinat is an oriental bazaar within the Madinat Jumeirah resort. In the evenings, it often hosts musicians and entertainment. You can stroll around the beautiful area and take photos against the backdrop of unusual architecture and water canals.
Ras Al Khor Nature Reserve is the best place for bird watching in Dubai. It is home to tens of thousands of wild birds, with flamingos being the main protagonists in winter.
Quranic Park is an indoor park dedicated to the miracles described in the Quran and the values of love, peace and tolerance.
Finally, Zabeel Park is one of Dubai’s largest parks, a quiet corner in the heart of the city centre. Children’s rides, an education and entertainment centre, picnic areas, restaurants and boat rentals.
