Dubai Police unveils new Zeekr 001 patrol vehicle
Dubai Police has added the Zeekr 001 high-performance electric patrol vehicle to its growing fleet, which will help reduce response times to incidents.
The Zeekr 001 is the latest electric vehicle purchased by the police as part of the UAE’s long-term clean energy programme. The car has a power output of 544 horsepower and is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
The car is equipped with a 100 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 580 kilometres on a single charge.
Brigadier General Juma bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said the introduction of the latest patrol vehicles will contribute to the development of advanced technology to enhance traffic management and safety.
Over the years, Dubai Police has amassed an impressive collection of supercars including the Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, Bentley Continental GT and the limited edition Aston Martin One-77.
Supercars in green and white police livery are often seen at national events such as the Dubai Marathon, the UAE Tour cycling race and other parades or celebrations.
In October 2022, Dubai Police added its first electric vehicle to its ranks. The Hongqi E-HS9 vehicle is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in five seconds. It has a range of around 440 kilometres and takes six to eight hours to fully charge from the mains.
