Telegraph Travel honours World’s Best Airline
Emirates has been named ‘World’s Best Airline’ among 90 international carriers in a recent comprehensive survey by Telegraph Travel.
The airlines were judged on more than 30 criteria, including punctuality, baggage allowance, route network, airport development, fleet condition, loyalty programme and in-flight catering.
The results were summarised based on data from more than 18 independent and international awards, reader surveys, rating websites and expert opinions.
Emirates ‘ victory was deserved – according to the study, the airline “meets almost all requirements, from baggage allowance to punctuality”.
It is noted that the Emirates fleet has the largest number of double-deck Airbus A380 aircraft. Passengers often favour these airliners due to the interior space in all cabin classes, including economy.
The independent study evaluated 90 airlines selected on the basis of the number of passengers carried annually.
Points were awarded based on each airline’s performance across a range of criteria, including reliability, route network, baggage allowance, on-board service, average fleet age, airport development, loyalty programme conditions, safety, airline history and lounge quality.
Numerous reader surveys and ratings from Apex, Airline Ratings, Skytrax, TrustPilot and others were also taken into account. In addition to the title from Telegraph Travel in 2024, Emirates has won 19 other awards and topped international rankings.
