Dubai gets the world’s best reputation
Dubai has been recognised as one of the top five best brand cities in the world, topping the ranking in terms of reputation, according to the new Brand Finance Global City Index.
Over the past year, the emirate has moved up four places in the ranking, but still trails London, New York, Paris and Tokyo. A total of 100 megacities of the world were included in the rating of brand cities.
Cities were evaluated by more than 15 thousand respondents from 20 countries. Dubai achieved the highest marks thanks to the development of business and investment climate, development of labour market and opportunities for remote work.
The first place in terms of future growth potential was secured by initiatives such as the Dubai Future Foundation, which promotes the development of start-ups and the innovation economy.
The emirate ranked second globally as a city with a strong and stable economy and third as a jurisdiction with an attractive tax regime. The government’s investment in the business ecosystem, tourism and infrastructure has helped Dubai to achieve high rankings.
Foreigners’ perceptions of the emirate help it cement its status as the metropolis most attractive place to live, work and do business. Respondents rated the cities based on their level of recognisability, reputation and popularity.
It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi has risen in the rating by 8 lines compared to last year and now ranks 24th. It is noteworthy that the UAE capital ranked 2nd in the world in terms of investment attractiveness and 9th as the most attractive destination for remote work.
Abu Dhabi is also great for start-ups and innovation and has solid potential for future growth, ranking 20th in the sub-ranking of top cities for science and technology.
