Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture, announced the launch of the Dubai Cultural Grant programme, which aims to strengthen the city’s cultural sector and support creative communities. A total of AED 180 million will be allocated to selected initiatives over the next decade.

In the first year of the programme, 18 grants are scheduled to be awarded with a total value of AED 12 million. The funds will be used to support local talent in various creative fields, including visual and performing arts, design, cookery and literature.

The programme includes a number of initiatives including:

– A grant for Emirati artists to participate in the Venice Biennale, which will allow ten artists to immerse themselves in cultural exchange and interaction with global masters.

– A research grant for Etihad Museum, providing researchers with AED 50,000 to dig deep into Emirati identity through archival materials.

– A grant for Emirati chefs, created in partnership with the International Centre for Culinary Arts in Dubai, to help young chefs develop skills in traditional and innovative cuisine.

– Talent Atelier programme, which provides twelve Emirati designers with a unique experience in the art of jewellery.

– Art Jameel Research and Practice Platform grants aimed at projects related to environmental themes.

– Grants are also being implemented for youth participation in Piano Camp, which offers educational piano masterclasses, and Art + Tech Training Programme initiatives to integrate technology into creative practice.

During the event, held at Etihad Museum, Sheikha Latifa highlighted Dubai’s ambition to become a global centre for cultural expression and innovation. She said the launch of the programme is an investment in future generations and a contribution to the city’s cultural movement.
