Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed leads Dubai Run 2024
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Minister of Defence, led the city-wide Dubai Run 2024 in the early hours of November 24.
The large-scale sporting event, which takes place on Sheikh Zayed Highway, is attended by tens of thousands of Dubai residents and visitors each year. The race was opened by police supercars led by the futuristic Tesla CyberTrack – they provided security for the participants.
Later, a team of paragliders appeared in the morning sky, and a mounted police parade added colour to the action. Dubai authorities annually close the emirate’s main motorway to traffic for the event.
Sheikh Hamdan entered the race with registration number 003, with which he covered the 10-kilometre route. The Dubai Run 2024 aims to transform Dubai into one of the world’s healthiest and most active cities.
The free run culminates the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge, which turns Dubai into a huge open-air gym every year.
