Fireworks to light up UAE skies in honour of National Day
This coming weekend, the United Arab Emirates will celebrate National Day or Eid Al Etihad, which marks the unification of the seven emirates on 2 December 1971. This year, the country is celebrating the 53rd anniversary of this significant event.
In Dubai, from 1 to 3 December, spectators will be able to enjoy the splendour of fireworks at several popular venues:
Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR: 1 December at 8pm
Hatta Sign: 2 December at 8:00pm
Dubai Festival City Mall: 2 December at 21:10
Al Seef: 3 December at 21:00.
In addition, Dubai Parks and Resorts invites you to the fireworks show at Riverland on 1 and 2 December at 19:00 and 21:30. Entry will cost AED 15, but admission is free for guests of the complex and attraction ticket holders.
In the capital, Abu Dhabi, the National Day celebrations will also be colourful. Fireworks will light up the sky in:
Yas Bay Waterfront: 2 December at 9pm
Yas Marina Circuit: 2 December at 21:00 (must register on the official website)
Al Maryah Island: 2 and 3 December at 21:00.
Visitors to the Sheikh Zayed Festival at Al Wathba will be able to enjoy not only fireworks but also a cultural show with performances by Emirati artists. Admission to the festival costs AED 10, and is free for children under 3 years old, pensioners and people with disabilities.
Al Ain will also host the Mother of the Nation Festival with fireworks on 1 and 2 December, as well as concerts and various events. Tickets for the festival cost from AED 25.
