Dubai collects the most pre-New Year’s Eve Instagram snaps
Dubai has become an iconic New Year’s Eve destination for Instagram users, garnering the most number of pre-holiday photo shoots. Thus, the emirate has overtaken Sydney and London in terms of the number of New Year’s Eve snaps.
To come to this conclusion, Travelbag, a company that specialises in long-haul travel, the team analysed hashtag data from 100 cities around the world, which allowed it to name Dubai as the most popular place to visit on New Year’s Eve 2025.
Dubai, which took the top spot, racked up more than 10,000 New Year’s Eve tags, while New York had just 5,676. Paris came in third place with 5,070 markers and London came in fourth with 4,499. Sydney ranked 6th with 1,172 hashtags.
Fireworks from the world’s tallest building on 31 December 2024 are expected to traditionally attract hundreds of thousands of viewers, with millions watching live. This year, tickets for the Burj Khalifa New Year’s Eve event with live performances, fireworks and children’s workshops have increased in price by 150 per cent.
Tickets for entry to Burj Park, which start at AED 580 for adults and AED 370 for children over the age of 5, are available for purchase from 24 October and can be booked online. Each ticket includes a food and beverage voucher worth AED 60 for adults and AED 30 for children.
New Year’s Eve entertainment at the venue will begin at 3.30pm on 31 December. They include performances by DJs and music bands and children’s activities. More than 10 food and beverage stalls will offer a wide range of dining options, creating a truly festive atmosphere.
Visitors are strongly advised to obtain their passes between 26 and 30 December so that they can then proceed to Burj Park unhindered. Guests will be able to find their way to their seats using coloured navigation flags.
