Dubai Shopping Festival

Dubai Shopping Festival presents 38 days of entertainment

The famous Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) kicks off on 6 December with fireworks and drone shows lighting up the emirate’s skies daily and, for the first time in the city’s history, a joint performance using both elements. The events will continue until 12 January next year.

A pyro show, fireworks using drones, will delight spectators on the second weekend of DSF. On 13 December at 8pm and 10pm, around 150 drones will fly over Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR. On the final weekend of the festival, 11 January, spectators will once again be able to enjoy this incredible spectacle.

Every evening at 9:15pm, Dubai’s skyline will sparkle thanks to beautiful fireworks displays at Dubai Festival City Mall, while twice a week on weekends, fireworks will delight spectators at 8pm at Hatta.

Drone shows will also take place twice daily at Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR. According to the organisers, 1,000 drones will take part in the performance: the show promises to give spectators an unforgettable experience.

This year’s drone performances will be divided into two themes: from 6 to 26 December, the performances will focus on DSF’s heritage, taking viewers on a journey through the festival’s thirty-year history, while from 27 December to 12 January, the drones will present Dubai’s iconic landmarks in 2D and 3D formats.

From 6-12 December, drones will generate QR codes that viewers can scan to send personalised messages, and on 13 December, drones will bring these messages to life.

This year, which marks the festival’s 30th anniversary, the festival will also feature Dubai Lights installations that will illuminate the city. Technology, immersive visual projections and interactive figures will appear at key locations across the emirate.
