New Millionaires Emerged in Dubai

Indian-born residents of Dubai have become new millionaires after winning one million dollars each in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise lottery draws.

The first lucky winner was Fayyad Ahmed, 40, who won in the Millennium Millionaire 482 series with ticket number 3266 bought online on 16 November. Ahmed has been living in Dubai for 12 years and has been purchasing lottery tickets with ten friends for three years. He works in IT and is a father of two. ‘Thank you Dubai Duty Free, we are very grateful for this win,’ he said.

The second millionaire was Vinod Putia Purayil, 29, who won the Millennium Millionaire 483 series with ticket number 1880, purchased on 30 November. Putia Purayil, also based in Dubai, purchased the ticket with nine friends who have been participating in the draw for more than four years. He is a soon-to-be father, his wife is seven months pregnant. ‘Thank you Dubai Duty Free! This win will help us a lot,’ he noted.

Other winners of the Finest Surprise draw included three lucky winners who received luxury cars. Rajasekar Samaresan, 43, won a Mercedes Benz AMG GT 43 with ticket number 1138 bought on 6 December. He had already won a BMW R 1250 RS motorbike earlier this year. ‘Thank you Dubai Duty Free! I will continue to participate in the hope of winning a million dollars,’ he added.

Sultan Mohamed Salim Alhamour, 44, won a Range Rover HSE P400. What’s interesting is that he purchased the ticket on his birthday – 29 November. ‘I finally won at Dubai Duty Free! Thank you very much,’ he said.

Another lucky winner was Mohammed Arshad Ali, 29, who won an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory motorbike with a ticket purchased on 6 December. ‘This is really a surprise! Thank you Dubai Duty Free,’ he shared.
