Dubai announces New Year schedule for parks and lakes

Dubai Municipality has announced the working hours of the city’s parks and public attractions for 1 January 2025. The first Wednesday of the new year will be a paid day off for public and private sector employees.

Al Mamzar, Al Khor, Mushrif and Al Safa parks will be open from 8:00am to 11:00pm, but the cycling and hiking trails in Mushrif National Park will welcome visitors from 06:30am to 5:30pm.

Leem Lake, Al Ghadeer Lake, Al Barsha Pond Park, Umm Suqeim Park, Al Khazan Park, Al Satwa Park and Al Quoz First Park will be open until 01:00 on 2 January, Quran Park will open at 08:00 and run until 22:00 and the famous Dubai Frame will be open from 08:00 to 21:00.

The famous lakes of Al Marmoum Reserve and Suhaila Lakes will be open to the public 24 hours a day.

The world’s largest Ferris wheel, Ain Dubai, one of Dubai’s most famous attractions, started welcoming visitors again last week. The Ferris wheel on the Bluewaters Peninsula is part of Dubai’s collection of world records. From the top points, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the restaurants, shopping centres and residences below.

The Ain Dubai attraction officially opened on 21 October 2021, but has been closed for refurbishment since 2022.The attraction has 48 passenger cabins that can accommodate more than 1,750 visitors at a time – both day and night.

It is designed for families, romantic couples, and special events and parties such as Dinner in the Sky. An entertainment complex is placed at the base of the attraction, and the wheel itself features a huge LED screen.

The air-conditioned cabins offer views of the whole of Dubai, its man-made islands and the Persian Gulf. Ain Dubai makes a full revolution in 38 minutes, two revolutions – in 76 minutes.
