Marsana East beach opened in Abu Dhabi
A brand new beach, Marsana East, has been opened in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. A visit to the beach on Hudairiyat Island, known for its sporting attractions, will cost AED 50 on weekdays and AED 100 on weekends.
Visitors can order food and drinks directly from the sunbeds. At the same time, the main beach of Hudairiyat Island remains free to visit.
As you know, back in autumn, Surf Abu Dhabi, the world’s largest artificial wave pool, opened on the island. It also features the world’s largest barrel and the world’s longest surfing ‘slope’.
Surf Abu Dhabi was part of Modon Properties’ masterplan, which has planned a 51 million square metre development on the island. The new sports attraction is located next door to the region’s first velodrome, Velodrome Abu Dhabi, which will open in 2025 and will be a major regional sports centre as well as the capital’s largest park at 2.25 million square metres.
Hudayriat is home to the region’s first UCI Category 1 indoor cycleway. The total length of the cycleway network is 220 kilometres. In addition to Surf Abu Dhabi and Velodrome Abu Dhabi, Hudayriat Island is already a destination for sports enthusiasts, with Trail X, Bike Park and 321 Sports.
Hudayriat Island also opened the Greek-style Ilios Beach Club in autumn, as well as the Nalu Surf Club for surfing enthusiasts.
Ilios Beach Club comprises a restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine, including seafood snacks, as well as a lounge and private pool. It features indoor facilities and an alfresco terrace with sunset views.
In turn, Nalu Surf Club’s design, with its two-storey layout, rooftop lounge and open-air bar, is inspired by the Californian coastline. The family-friendly atmosphere is a great place to watch beginners and experienced surfers practice.
